Housing and Housing Benefit Law provides a useful introductory guide to applications for housing, homelessness, tenancies, enforcement of rent arrears, tenancy management issues, possession proceedings, Housing Benefit and use of the Human Rights Act 1998 in housing. However, it does not provide enough detail so that other standard texts in these areas are not required. Organisations or individuals seeking a basic guide and overview of the areas covered would not be disappointed as the text is well written and easy to understand and there are some useful sample standard letters, examples of court forms and tribunal documents in the appendices.
The sections dealing with Housing Benefit provide a clear overview of the main rules but there are better publications dealing with Housing Benefit law. The information is clearly and concisely written but is not referenced to indicate the source of the rules and there is little discussion around or interpretation of the rules. If you are just looking for a detailed resource for Housing Benefit law you will be better buying something else.
